If you've had the pleasure of working with Best Venues New York's experienced event planners, we don't have to tell you that we know our venues inside and out. Let us handle your venue sourcing and you're guaranteed to save time and money. Our detailed knowledge of New York's most elegant, glamorous, and funky spaces goes hand in hand with our love for the city. That's why we're happy to present our neighborhood guides. We've done all the legwork, all you have to do is start exploring. First up is our Chelsea Neighborhood Guide.
Located on the west side of Manhattan, in the 1800s Chelsea was originally an industrial district intersected by elevated railroads. Now it's a hotspot that's world renown for its art galleries and nightlife.
Start your day by visiting the Highline, New York's elevated park. The High Line started out as one of Chelsea's above mentioned elevated railroads. But in 2009, the city transformed this defunct set of track into 1.45 miles of unique greenery and outdoor art installations. Enter the park on 10th Avenue and 23rd Street and you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the skyline.
Once you've had your fill of fresh air and sustainable landscape design, take a peek inside Chelsea Market. Not only is it one of New York's most famous food halls, it's also home local designers and artisans. You never know what you might find inside, so it's always a great pit stop.
After you've whet your whistle with the Highline and Chelsea Market, go get some culture. Go gallery hopping and see what's on view at Chelsea's many excellent art galleries.Sandwiched between 10th and 11th avenues, and spanning 19th street all the way up to 25th street, you're bound to find a space and an exhibition that speaks to you.
Tuckered out from all that walking? Don't fret, our next stop is at the trendy Tao Downtown. Enter the multi level space and get ready to relax at the foot of an enormous reclining Buddha. After your busy day you'll want to nibble on agedashi tofu and lobster egg rolls. While you contemplate your next course, take in your surroundings. Everything from the Chinese murals on the weathered brick walls to the dragon scale patterned screens will make you feel like they've just discovered the space.
Last but not least, we'd like to recommend PHD Rooftop Lounge at Dream Downtown as the final stop of the night. Expert DJs will spin while you sip on bespoke cocktails, surrounded by gorgeous Italian marble and amber chandeliers. You could easily dance the night away, but before last call make sure you make your way to the landscaped terrace and catch a glimpse of the Empire State Building and the Hudson River.
